Sacrifice to Christ
In this post, we challenge the claim that Jesus is never worshiped or sacrificed to, and therefore cannot be divine. By placing Luke 22:19 within its original Passover context, we argue that Christ was not instituting a new ritual, but recentering the Passover itself around His own person. Drawing on the Passover setting, Second Temple meal practices, and the language of Exodus 12, we show that when Jesus says, “Do this in remembrance of Me,” He is making a profound declaration of deity. If the Passover sacrifice was to be done as a memorial to YHVH, and Jesus commands it be done in remembrance of Him, then He is unmistakably identifying Himself as the God of Israel in the flesh.
